Cost, honestly compared
BlogVault prices per site by tier, weighted toward backup depth and retention. For a single high-value ecommerce store, the cost is easy to justify against the value of one avoided data loss.
WP Remote offers a free tier and tiered per-site premium plans, with some infrastructure-heavy capability sold separately. Because it sits on the same backup engine, you are not choosing between backup quality and management capability.
Running both is not usually necessary. WP Remote's premium tiers include the backup capability most portfolios need, and buying BlogVault alongside it generally makes sense only for specific stores where real-time order-level protection is a contractual promise.
The cost nobody puts on the pricing page
Because these products share a company and a backup engine, the boundary between them moves. Capability that sits in one product this year may appear in the other next year, and tier definitions change more often than the marketing pages suggest. Verify what is included at your intended tier directly with the vendor before committing a portfolio, rather than relying on any comparison page including this one.
Which one should you pick?
Choose BlogVault if backup and recovery is the actual requirement, particularly for WooCommerce stores where losing orders between backups is unacceptable. Depth of protection is what it is built for.
Choose WP Remote if you manage client sites at portfolio scale and need updates, monitoring and reporting alongside backup. You inherit the backup engine anyway, which is the main reason to prefer it over other management tools.
Choose both only in the specific case where a handful of stores need real-time order-level protection that your management tier does not include. For most agencies that combination is unnecessary spend.
